Single wire Beverage RX antenna on ground
73.00 € (without tax)
The classic single-wire Beverage antenna consists of a long conductor placed very close to (on/under) the ground. The element of this antenna must be considerably shorter than that of a traditional Beverage antenna with an elevated wire. Here, the overall length is a crucial factor — exceeding it can cause the antenna to stop operating correctly. The optimal length depends on soil characteristics and the chosen frequency band, and it can vary significantly with location (QTH) and seasonal conditions, particularly between dry and wet periods.
Beverage antennas offer an exceptionally affordable and reliable solution for enhancing long-distance (DX) reception on low-frequency bands.
The MK2 version features an enhanced transformer box design, adds a 180-degree phase rotation option, and maintains multiple protection circuits along with a common-mode filter. It also provides the ability to select between two impedance ratios. With the 0–180° phase shift capability, the Beverage kit can be integrated into a phased array system — operating as a Broad-Side configuration at 0°, or as an End-Fire system when using both 0° and 180° phases.
The universal terminator uses a set of 1W resistors that can be configured via jumpers to achieve resistance values from 240 to 900 Ohms, with an additional 50 Ohm option. It is compatible not only with Beverage antennas but also with BOG setups and various loop designs such as DHDL and K9AY. The unit also includes multiple built-in protection features.
