Single wire Beverage MK2 CLASSIC
This Single wire Beverage classic is a long wire antenna installed very close to the ground. The antenna should be longer than 1 wavelength and installed at a height of less than 0.05 wavelength above ground. The beverage is usually terminated in a resistance at the end (opposite the feedpoint). Beverage antennas provide one of the least expensive and most reliable ways to improve DX capabilities on the low frequencies.
The MK2 version provides an improved transformer box design, adds the ability to rotate the phase 180 degrees, retains multiple protections, common-mode filter, and allows two impedance ratios to be selected.
The 0 to 180 degree phase change allows the Beverage kit to be used in a phased system. Both for 0 degrees it is a Broad-Side, for 0 and 180 degrees an End-Fire system.
The universal terminator contains a combination of 1W resistors that can be set to combinations of 240 to 900 Ohm using jumpers and add another 50 Ohm. This terminator can also be used with BOG designs, various loop antennas (DHDL, K9AY) and also contains several protections.
