Small transceivers are very popular these days. They are powerful and offer some of today's best features. Their disadvantage is the lack of an RX antenna input for those wishing to improve their reception on the lower bands. Most of our RX controllers include a protected RX ANT switch controlled by a PTT signal.
This small box has a circuit design that builds on the experience of previous RX controllers. It includes protections on the RX ANT input, a switch between RX and TX/RX antenna with high isolation, a PTT splitter that splits the input PTT signal to control the relay and to the extra output. The PTT input is on a classic RCA connector, but also on a mini DIN YAESU TUNER connector. This gives you a PTT output on RCA from a classic YAESU TRX. This allows you to connect other equipment such as a PA that has a PTT IN with an RCA connector. The RX ANTENNA switch is housed in a small aluminium box and has LED indicators for RX ANT, TX and ON. Selecting to RX antenna is via a small toggle switch located at the end of a 1m long cable. This toggle switch can be placed close to the TRX and the RF box can remain hidden. Switching is also possible using the relay contact of some IP controller at remote.

PTT logic
- The PTT signal is important for controlling the relay when transmitting.
- PTT IN can be either via the RCA PTT IN connector or via a Mini DIN connector connected to the YAESU TUNER. With the YAESU TRX, you not only get an RX ANT switch but also an RCA PTT output. The whole PTT IN is separated by an optocoupler. The PTT output is via a 5A FET transistor with a 0.5A reversible fuse.
DC INPUT
- You can use one of two options to power the box. With the YAESU TRX when connected via Mini DIN, the switch is powered directly from the TRX. For the other case you need to connect 13.8V using the supplied two-line cable.
