Description

This is an RF switch for RX equipment with two inputs and one output. The advantage of this switch is that it can be controlled by positive or negative DC voltage as well as AC voltage. This is done by means of jumpers. Control can be via coaxial cable or by applying voltage to the internal terminal block.

Another advantage of this switch is ability to send voltage from the output to the inputs. In various combinations it is possible to switch the input and apply voltage to the input at the same time. For example, it is possible to switch the input and supply power to a preamplifier or active antenna at the same time.

The output has a common mode filter and the RF paths have input and output overvoltage protectors. The unused input(s) are connected to dummy loads.

You can use this box for example to switch between Beverage antennas remotely in the filed. Preferably you can switch between two Bi-Dir Beverage antennas and get 4 directions on one coaxial cable.

You can also use the connectors where the two switch contacts of the relay are connected. These contacts can switch external devices, switch power to preamps, switch the audio path when switching SDRs, etc.

Example 1: AC or DC pass through for active antenna (DC)

Using the Jumpers, it is possible to set both the control method and the voltage supply to the antenna port. This feature can be used to power an active antenna (MiniWhip), an antenna preamplifier (RX preamp BOX) or disconnect protection (ANT SAFE DISCONNECT).

Example 2: 4 directions with two Bi-DIR Beverage antennas
