Soft start relay 230V 16A

This is soft start relay board with fixed start time around 1 sec. and power NTC resistors. The board is designed to limit the starting (peak) current of large power supplies - with big transformers, big capacitors etc.

The principle is that when 230V AC is applied to the board's input, this voltage is passed to the output via power NTC resistors. These limit the initial peak current on power-up, thus ensuring safe power-up - the circuit breaker will not trip. After approximately 1 second these resistors are bypassed by a large 30A relay. The input is then connected directly to the output.

This unit does not act as a protective circuit or circuit breaker! A suitable short-circuit protection device must be incorporated into the circuit.
