This is an example of one of the first custom development and production. From design to production of the finished product.
This is an external remote control for RF power amplifiers from BEKO Electronik. The controller is connected to the PA via a D-SUB 9 cable and allows remote indication of RF power, switching the PA to OPR, resetting the PA and switching on the preamplifier (LNA). The controller also allows extension to include temperature and SWR measurement.
The controller is based on a board with CPU and LAN. ESP32 is used as CPU and LAN port contains several protections and filters. There are two LAN transformers for perfect elimination of common-mode currents, and a surge protector is inserted between them. The upper daughter board contains an optical separation of the PA from the controller, as well as a 16 bit ADC converter for PWR and possibly SWR measurements. The connectors also have RFI filters.
The software is from Mike DM5XX. The ESP32 performs basic operations and other "magic" takes place in the web page. With the calibration web site it is possible to perform calibration, select the correct PA and power range, etc.
